Last year my friend Elisa taught me how to make earrings, it actually isn’t too bad if you can get past that each set and each earring will have its own character to them and they will NOT be perfect. On the other hand, you can make earrings just how you like them and nobody else will have the same earrings as you.

I haven’t made any in a while but have thought about it on and off. My sister and her family were coming to Utah for Christmas this year and so I had the idea that it would be a fun activity for those who have pierced ears and to also have them be presents. I enjoyed seeing the creativity that each person had and what they were able to come up with on their own.

Aly and I were able to make some to send home for my mom and other sister. I have never had anywhere “safe” to put my earrings and so I decided to make a display for them. I went to Lowe’s and got some chicken wire or gardening wire along with a can of textured spray paint. I took a frame that I had from home and sanded it just to rough up the wood. I spray painted it with 2 layers and let it fully dry, then I cut a piece of the wire to fit the internal part of the frame; basically the size of what the glass was. I then put the wire inside the frame and put in the cardboard for the backing. I hung it up in my bathroom along with the earrings and TADA, I have a place to display all my earrings. The top half is for me and the bottom is for Aly until I get hers made.

Thanks Elisa for teaching me how to make earrings.

there were SO many people!! Getting out was wild

Couple of weeks ago I was at work chatting with one of my fellow blogger friends, Kristen, whom at that point in the day I had not met but had chatted with several times. I was getting ready to leave work when I check my messenger and see, ” Do you want to go to Conference”. I was like sure. I have never gone before, considering I had grown up in California it made it less accessible to go. So I text a few peeps cause I had a total of 4 tickets and was way excited. Well since it was short notice I didn’t anticipate that anybody could go. Needless to say Julie was able to go. Now Julie and I have known each other since I was almost 8 I think, so that puts us at around 22 yrs now. YIKES! So we get ready and head up Saturday morning. There is nothing like fighting Conference traffic. So we get to the will call door and wait in the shortest line to get our tickets . I get my ticket and we walk into the conference center and I show one of the ushers our tickets and they escort us to where we need to go. We kept walking and walking. I looked at Julie and we were like, our seats are close. So we get where we need to be and the show us to our seats. We were the 10th row back!!! NO WAY!! I was so excited. It was beautiful, it was calming, it was a spiritual feast. I wanted the organ to be played louder, I wanted the music to be sung louder, it filled my body and rejuvenated me. I LOVE music. I love the way it feels inside of me. It is the spice of life. It was sweet to feel such peace again as I have felt so much turmoil lately. Thank you Kristen for the tickets!!!

My Sweet Dancer

The outfit couldn’t have been more perfect! If she picked it out herself I am positive it would have looked just like this!

She did such a good job. She has been asking me for some time now to do dance and it has finally worked out. She goes with her friend Katie on Tuesday nights when I am at my group. She is in all her glory! I love to see her develop her own personal talents and passions. She is so creative and has quite the imagination.
Just love this kid!!!

I have to say that I am not very accepting of waking up to this today! YIKES! I pray this is a random storm and not the begining of winter already. Winter last year drug on until June or so and then we had Summer if you want to call it that and then this. I am NOT ready, in more ways then one!! Oh well, I can’t control the weather.
For this I am GRATEFUL I have my carport to park under so that I am not scraping my car like last year. That thought warms my heart!
